Both Sussex PAC holiday shows
were soldout weeks in advance and featured for the first time
our new vintage radio show that was written exclusively for
this holiday concert!
The radio show used vintage radio microphones, vintage commercials,
comedy, sound effects and of course vintage BIG BAND holiday
music!
The participants in the show we're all members of the Somers
Dream Orchestra many of whom had never had the opportunity to
speak on a microphone to a live audience before.
It was interesting and a lot of fun for everyone! The show was
a smashing success!!! They've already asked us back again in
2009!
My 84 year old Mother, Helen Somers was on hand traveling from
the Great State of Georgia to attend this concert as well as
my oldest son John Somers, Jr. who just returned from his 9th
tour of duty in the Persian Gulf in 10 years with the United
States NAVY! They gave John a standing ovation when he was introduced!
It was an emotional moment for his Dad...
As we close the year 2008 we look back at what was our best
year since the release of our CD in the year 2000. This coming
February the Somers Dream Orchestra will begin our 14th year
of operation. We would like to thank all of you for your support!
